Here are some of the ways you can contribute to restoring and maintaining Damariscotta's historic cemeteries:
- Donate funds
- Lend your equipment for volunteers to use
- Volunteer your time
- Organize a workgroup
- Adopt a cemetery: Individuals, families, neighbors, descendants, churches, businesses, civic clubs, and other organizations may adopt a cemetery. Adoption includes:
- Active participation April through November
- Spring and fall clean-ups
- Mowing and trimming every 4 to 6 weeks, May through September
- Notifying the Historical Society of broken stones, trees or large limbs down - anything requiring more than routine grounds maintenance
- A 1-year commitment, which may be extended for additional years
