About Us
The Town Clerk’s office is a public service office that performs a wide variety of department functions and citizen services. One of the objectives of this office is to provide prompt and courteous service to the residents of Damariscotta.
The office of the Town Clerk is the official Record Keeper for the Town of Damariscotta. We issue, record, and ensure the safekeeping and preservation of Town Ordinances, Board of Selectmen Minutes, Vital Records (Birth, Marriage, and Death), Marriage Licenses, and other official documents.
The Clerk's office issues various state and local licenses and permits, which include Vending Permits, Entertainment Licenses, Liquor Licenses, Hunting & Fishing Licenses, Marriage Licenses and Dog Licenses.
The Town Clerk's office is responsible for coordinating and conducting all elections, maintaining current and accurate voter records, and voter registration. In addition, we also process all Bureau of Motor Vehicle registrations; ATV, boat, and snowmobile registrations for Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
